What is Reflux and Regurgitation?
Reflux occurs when the stomach contents leak back into the oesophagus after feeding, with or without regurgitation, while regurgitation or posseting results in the stomach contents reaching the mouth. Both conditions can occur in healthy babies and are usually uncomplicated, with most of them growing out of it by the time they reach 1 year old.
How can Aptamil Anti-Reflux Help?
Thickened feeds are proven to help reduce the symptoms of reflux. Aptamil Anti-Reflux is a thickened feed made using carob bean gum. It is clinically proven to be thicker on preparation than others and is less affected by the enzymes in saliva meaning that the feed stays thicker in the stomach. It also contains, long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs) which are important for the development of your babys brain, eyes and nervous system, and nucleotides which are important for healthy growth and development.
